Dolphins' top pick Parker sidelined after foot surgery

Jun 5, 2015 - 4:02 PM Davie, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - Miami Dolphins wide receiver DeVante Parker underwent foot surgery Friday morning.

Parker, selected by the Dolphins with the 14th overall pick of the NFL Draft, will miss minicamp and will likely be sidelined for part of training camp this summer, but should be ready for the start of the season.

According to the Miami Herald, the procedure replaced a screw in his left foot that was originally inserted to help heal a fracture Parker suffered in 2014 while at Louisville.

Parker played in 42 games with 18 starts while with the Cardinals and recorded 156 receptions for 2,775 yards and 33 touchdowns. His 33 touchdowns tied a school record and he earned second-team All-ACC honors as a senior in 2014 despite playing in only six games.
