Meyer leads Centurions past Admirals

Jun 9, 2007 - 9:17 PM COLOGNE, Germany (Ticker) -- Erik Meyer threw for 287 yards and three touchdowns as the Cologne Centurions posted a 31-13victory over the Amsterdam Admirals 31-13 on Saturday.Cologne (6-3) remained tied for first place with Frankfurt andHamburg. All three clubs will battle for the two spots in WorldBowl XV next weekend.The Admirals (3-6) jumped out to a 10-0 lead when Japanese widereceiver Noriaki Kinoshita returned a punt 86 yards for atouchdown in the second quarter.Cologne quickly responded as Meyer threw a 35-yard touchdownpass to Tony Curtis. On the next Cologne possession, runningback Derrick Ross scored from one yard out to give theCenturions a 14-10 lead.The teams traded field goals to start the second half, beforeMeyer threw a three-yard touchdown pass to Burl Toler on thefirst play of the fourth quarter.Meyer threw his third touchdown of the day, connecting withBobby Blizzard from 20 yards out with 7:12 remaining.
