EDMONTON, Alberta (AP) -- Shawn Horcoff and Sheldon Souray each had a goal and two assists and the Edmonton Oilers beat the Calgary Flames 5-1 on Friday night, giving Chicago the No. 4 seed in the Western Conference playoffs.

Ales Kotalik, Steve MacIntyre and Patrick O'Sullivan also scored for the Oilers, eliminated from playoff contention Tuesday night.

"Obviously we wanted to have a strong effort to finish at home, especially against Calgary," Kotalik said. "We wanted to show that we still care and have heart and we did that tonight."

Jeff Drouin-Deslauriers made 31 saves for the Oilers, out of the playoffs for the third straight year, in his first start since Nov. 30. Dwayne Roloson started the previous 36 games.

Michael Cammalleri scored for the Flames, two points behind Vancouver for the Northwest Division lead.

"We lost control of our situation tonight," Calgary captain Jarome Iginla said. "We have to wait and see what Vancouver does now. That's unfortunate from our side. Hopefully, we still have an opportunity to win our division."

Calgary played the game with only 15 skaters because of a recent series of injuries.

"We were missing some key players, which was tough," Flames goalie Miikka Kiprusoff said. "But it can't be used as an excuse. It was a huge game for us and we didn't play that strong."

Ignila said it has been a long time since he has been in a game where a team didn't have a fourth line.

"I think the last time I played in a situation like that was at the atom age for the St. Albert Cougars," he said. "I don't know how many times something like that has ever happened at this level."

Kotalik opened the scoring with his 20th goal with 5:39 left in the second, MacIntyre made it 2-0 with 3:55 to go in the period, and Horcoff scored his 17th at 12:06 of the third.

After Cammalleri made it 3-1 at 12:42 of the third with his 37th of the season, O'Sullivan added his 16th for Edmonton, and Souray capped the scoring on a power play with his 23rd goal.

The teams will meet again Saturday night in Calgary in the regular-season finale.

"It was one of those weird nights," Oilers coach Craig MacTavish said. "That might have been the least physical game these two teams have ever played against each other. That was a tough one to explain tonight."
