Senators extend affiliation with AHL Binghamton

Feb 8, 2007 - 12:40 AM OTTAWA (Ticker) -- The Ottawa Senators apparently are pleased with their affiliation with the American Hockey League's Binghamton franchise, extending the agreement between the clubs for five seasons Wednesday.

Affiliated with Binghamton since 2002-03, the Senators' new deal runs through the 2011-12 season. The Binghamton Senators own a record of 173-144-25 with 25 ties since becoming the top minor-league team of the NHL club.

Ottawa also announced Binghamton and Broome County have agreed in principle on a five-year lease for the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena. The deal is pending legislative approval.
