Ducks sign Boudreau through 2014-15

May 10, 2012 - 10:15 PM Anaheim, CA (Sports Network) - The Anaheim Ducks gave head coach Bruce Boudreau a two-year extension on Thursday, locking up the colorful bench boss through the 2014-15 season.

"I'm really happy about this, Boudreau admitted. "I'm convinced we have a great core of players and a bright future, and I'm excited to be a part of it."

Fired by the Washington Capitals on November 28, Boudreau was hired three days later by Anaheim as a replacement for Randy Carlyle, who was let go after the club posted a 7-13-4 mark to start the season.

The Ducks ended up going 27-23-8 under Boudreau, but it was only good enough to finish 13th in the Western Conference with 80 points, 15 back of a playoff spot.

"Since joining the organization last November, Bruce has done an outstanding job with the team," said Anaheim general manager Bob Murray. "He's committed to us and determined to lead us back to the playoffs."

Boudreau has a record of 228-111-48 in the regular season and reached the 200-win plateau faster than any coach in modern NHL history.
