Avalanche ink Hunwick to two-year deal
Jun 7, 2012 - 9:05 PM Denver, CO (Sports Network) - The Colorado Avalanche signed defenseman Matt Hunwick to a two-year contract on Thursday.Hunwick appeared in 33 games for the Avalanche last season, recording three goals and three assists.
"Matt provides depth to our defense," said Avalanche general manager/executive vice president Greg Sherman. "He played an important role for our team late last season and we are excited to have him under contract."
In 248 career NHL games with the Bruins and Avalanche, the 27-year-old has 16 goals and 45 assists.
