Hurricanes sign Boychuk
Jul 24, 2012 - 3:15 PM Raleigh, NC (Sports Network) - The Carolina Hurricanes have signed forward Zach Boychuk to a one-year contract.Boychuk, selected with the 14th pick of the 2008 draft, will earn $625,000 at the NHL level or $105,000 in the American Hockey League.
The 22-year-old Alberta native appeared in 16 games for the Hurricanes last season and notched a pair of assists. He was the leading goal scorer for Charlotte in the AHL with 21 goals in 64 games.
Boychuk has seven goals and 11 assists for 18 points in 72 career NHL games.
