Report: Flyers extend F Simmonds
Aug 16, 2012 - 3:48 AM Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) - The Philadelphia Flyers and Wayne Simmonds agreed to a six-year contract extension on Wednesday, according to a report by TSN.The report states the deal worth around $4 million per season.
The 6-foot-2, 183-pound forward scored a career-high 28 goals, including 11 on the power play, and tallied 21 assists in his first season with the Flyers after joining the team as a part of a trade with the Los Angeles Kings.
In four seasons with the Kings and Flyers, Simmonds has recorded 67 goals and 142 points in 322 games.
Simmonds, who turns 24 on August 26, had one year remaining on his current deal, worth $1.75 million.
