Ducks acquire Kesler from Canucks
Jun 27, 2014 - 8:23 PM Anaheim, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - The Anaheim Ducks acquired former 40-goal scorer Ryan Kesler on Friday in a trade with the Vancouver Canucks.The Ducks also received a 2015 third-round draft pick in the deal in exchange for center Nick Bonino, defenseman Luca Sbisa and the No. 24 and No. 85 pick in this year's draft, which starts Friday.
Kesler, 29, was an All-Star in 2011, the same year he won the Selke Trophy as the league's top defensive forward, and has played all 10 of his NHL seasons with the Canucks.
He had 25 goals and 18 assists in 77 games this past season and scored a career-high 41 goals in 2010-11.
Kesler, who is due $5 million in each of the next two seasons, has 182 goals and 211 assists in 655 career games.
Bonino is coming off a career season after collecting 22 goals and 27 assists in 77 games. He has played all five of his NHL seasons for Anaheim.
Sbisa has played six seasons, the last five for the Ducks. He had six points in 30 games last season.
