Ducks sign D Stoner, G LaBarbera
Jul 2, 2014 - 12:13 AM Anaheim, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - The Anaheim Ducks signed defenseman Clayton Stoner to a four-year contract on Tuesday and inked veteran goaltender Jason LaBarbera for one year.Stoner, 29, will add a physical presence to the Ducks blueline after leading all Minnesota Wild defensemen in hits (99) last season. He also topped the club with 84 penalty minutes while chipping in one goal and four assists in 63 regular-season games.
Selected by the Wild in the third round of the 2004 NHL Draft, Stoner has four goals, 27 assists and 296 penalty minutes in 227 career games.
LaBarbera, 34, had a 1-3 record, .870 save percentage and 3.28 goals-against average in seven games for Edmonton last season. He has a .907 save percentage and 2.86 GAA in 182 games for the Rangers, Kings, Canucks, Coyotes and Oilers, mostly as a backup.
