Senators sign Aaron Johnson

Jul 3, 2014 - 8:29 PM Ottawa, ON (SportsNetwork.com) - The Ottawa Senators signed defenseman Aaron Johnson to a one-year, two-way contract on Thursday.

Johnson spent the 2013-14 campaign with the New York Rangers' American Hockey League affiliate, the Hartford Wolf Pack. He had four goals and 36 assists in 76 games.

In 291 NHL games with the Bruins, Flames, Blackhawks, Blue Jackets, Oilers and Islanders, Johnson has 17 goals, 45 assists and 227 penalty minutes.

Also Thursday, the Senators re-signed forward David Dziurzynski to a two-year, two-way contract.

Dziurzynski, 24, played in 68 games with the AHL's Binghamton Senators last season, scoring 13 goals while adding 12 assists. He appeared in 12 NHL games with the Senators in 2012-13, recording two goals.
