Senators add Legwand with 2-year deal
Jul 4, 2014 - 7:10 PM Ottawa, ON (SportsNetwork.com) - The Ottawa Senators signed center David Legwand to a two-year, $6 million contract on Friday.The first draft pick in the history of the Nashville Predators at No. 2 overall in 1998, Legwand played for the franchise until being dealt to the Detroit Red Wings at the trade deadline last season. He finished with 14 goals and 37 assists in 83 games between the teams.
"He's an experienced guy that can fill the top or bottom of the lineup," Senators general manager Bryan Murray said.
The 33-year-old Legwand has 214 goals and 363 assists in 977 career games.
