Sharks re-sign Wingels to three-year deal
Jul 8, 2014 - 6:03 PM San Jose, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - The San Jose Sharks re-signed forward Tommy Wingels to a three-year contract on Tuesday.Wingels set a career high in goals (16), assists (22) and points (38) over 77 games last season.
"Tommy stepped forward and made a big commitment to our organization," said Sharks general manager Doug Wilson. "He is an important part of our team and a hard working, physical presence in our lineup. He competes the way we want our team to play and we're excited to have his leadership, both on and off the ice, in our locker room for three more seasons."
The 26-year-old Wingels has appeared in 157 NHL games with San Jose, registering 24 goals and 36 assists.
