Oilers ink first-round pick Draisaitl
Aug 12, 2014 - 4:27 PM Edmonton, AB (SportsNetwork.com) - The Edmonton Oilers signed Leon Draisaitl, the third overall pick in the 2014 draft, to a three-year, entry-level contract on Tuesday.The 18-year-old center played in 64 games for Prince Albert of the Western Hockey League last season, setting career highs in both goals (38) and assists (67).
A German native, Draisaitl's 105 points placed in a tie for fourth in WHL scoring.
