Avs re-sign Barrie
Sep 4, 2014 - 8:56 PM Denver, CO (SportsNetwork.com) - The Colorado Avalanche re-signed defenseman Tyson Barrie to a two-year contract Thursday.Barrie, 23, led all Colorado defensemen with 13 goals this past season. He added 25 assists for a total of 38 points.
"Tyson is a big part of the young nucleus of our team," said Avalanche Executive Vice President of Hockey Operations Joe Sakic. "He is a gifted young defenseman who brings a lot of offense. We are pleased to have him under contract and look forward to his contribution this upcoming season."
Selected by Colorado in the third round (64th overall) of the 2009 Entry Draft, Barrie has tallied 15 goals and 36 assists for 51 points in 106 career games in the NHL.
