Flames score three in 3rd to beat Sens

Nov 16, 2014 - 6:32 AM Calgary, AB (SportsNetwork.com) - Lance Bouma and Markus Granlund each scored and assisted on the other's third-period goal as the Calgary Flames beat the Ottawa Senators 4-2 on Saturday.

Josh Jooris also scored in the third and collected one assist for the Flames, who have opened their five-game homestand with consecutive wins. Karri Ramo stopped 23 of 25 Ottawa shots.

"Our pressure was unbelievable. I felt we pressured their goalie and their defensemen," Flames head coach Bob Hartley said. "We deserved this win."

Bobby Ryan and Clarke MacArthur had the goals in the Senators' final stop on a three-game Western Canadian trip (1-1-1). Craig Anderson made 21 saves in defeat.

"We just didn't do enough to get the game going our way," Ottawa head coach Paul MacLean said.

Bouma exited the penalty box and dished to Granlund, who made a move to the backhand and roofed the puck to put Calgary up 2-1 at 2:29 of the third.

Jooris hammered home Curtis Glencross' feed from the left corner for a power- play goal at 5:37.

The Senators closed to within 3-2 on Ryan's wraparound goal at 7:51, but Bouma wound up restoring the Flames' two-goal lead off an Anderson miscue at 12:57.

Calgary then survived a 5-on-3 power play for 62 seconds, and withstood the Senators' charge with Anderson on the bench late in the contest.

MacArthur opened the scoring at 12:17 of the first period, but the Flames tied it when Paul Byron scored on a breakaway at 8:12 of the second period.

Calgary defenseman Mark Giordano picked up an assist to extend his point streak to nine games ... Ottawa has lost seven of its last eight visits to the Saddledome ... Milan Michalek earned an assist on Ryan's goal for his 400th career point.
