Wilson done with shoulder injury; Varlamov day-to-day

Nov 18, 2014 - 8:08 PM Denver, CO (SportsNetwork.com) - Colorado Avalanche defenseman Ryan Wilson will miss the remainder of the season thanks to a shoulder injury which requires surgery.

Avs coach Patrick Roy revealed the news on Tuesday. The 27-year-old blueliner did not register a point in three games this season and has accumulated seven goals with 60 assists in 230 appearances for Colorado since 2009.

In addition, starting goaltender Semyon Varlamov is officially listed as day- to-day with a groin injury. The 26-year-old Russian backstop has gone just 4-5-4 with a 2.95 goals-against average and one shutout in 13 games this year.

Calvin Pickard was recalled from Lake Erie of the American Hockey League to spell Reto Berra if necessary. Pickard lost both of his decisions in a prior call-up early this season.
