Blackhawks' van Riemsdyk has surgery
Nov 20, 2014 - 8:06 PM Chicago, IL (SportsNetwork.com) - Chicago Blackhawks rookie defenseman Trevor van Riemsdyk underwent surgery to repair a left patella fracture, the team announced Thursday.Van Riemsdyk, 23, is expected to make a full recovery in three to four months. He was injured when he was hit in the left leg by a shot against the Dallas Stars on Sunday. The team placed him on long-term injured reserve Monday.
The younger brother of Toronto Maple Leafs forward James van Riemsdyk has one assist in 18 games this season.
