Ducks F Thompson out 5-6 months following shoulder surgery

Jun 13, 2015 - 9:42 PM Anaheim, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - The Anaheim Ducks revealed early on Saturday that forward Nate Thompson underwent successful shoulder surgery but won't be ready to return for 5-to-6 months.

The procedure addressed a pair of labral tears which had been bothering him through the postseason.

Thompson, a gritty winger who completed his ninth NHL season, compiled 18 points (5G, 13A) over 80 regular-season games and then came up with career highs in goals (2), assists (4) and points while appearing in 12 playoff games.
