Bruins sign D Matt Irwin to 1-year deal
Jul 11, 2015 - 4:25 AM BOSTON (AP) The Boston Bruins have signed defenseman Matt Irwin to a one-year contract worth $800,000.The 27-year-old Irwin had eight goals and 11 assists in 53 games for the Sharks last season, his third in San Jose. He spent four seasons with the Worcester Sharks of the AHL, scoring 22 goals with 66 assists.
The 6-foot-2, 210-pound Brentwood Bay, British Columbia, native played two seasons at UMass-Amherst.
