- SAN ANTONIO - The Oklahoma City Thunder and San Antonio Spurs meet in Game 5 with the second-round series 2-2. In the last game, the Thunder survived a wild finish. Game starts 8 p.m.

- SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Dave Joerger is introduced as coach of the Sacramento Kings, who hope the recently dismissed Memphis coach can end the team's decade-long playoff drought.

- PITTSBURGH - The Penguins try to finish off the Washington Capitals at home in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference semifinals. Washington fought off elimination with a 3-1 win in Game 5. Game starts 8 p.m.

- The St. Louis Blues are on the road to play the Dallas Stars in Game 7 of their second-round series. The visiting team has won the last three games.

- ST. PAUL, Minn. - The Minnesota Wild introduce coach Bruce Boudreau, who preaches fast-paced hockey and has won a division title in eight of his nine years on the bench in the NHL.

- MONTREAL - The World Anti-Doping Agency will investigate newly revealed details about Russian doping at the Sochi Olympics.

- RIO DE JANEIRO - Every day at the Olympics, some 18,000 athletes, coaches and staffers will need to be fed. The eating area is bigger than two football fields.

- CHICAGO - The Cubs, 24-6 and off to baseball's best 30-game start since 1984, go for their eighth straight win when they face the San Diego Padres. Game starts 8:05 p.m.

- GENEVA - Kosovo and Gibraltar are expected to become FIFA's newest members Friday and be fast-tracked into 2018 World Cup qualifying. The additions could create new political problems on and off the field.

- ARLINGTON, Texas - The WNBA's Tulsa Shock are moving to the Dallas area. The team will be known as the Dallas Wings.

- MANILA, Philippines - Manny Pacquiao appears to have won a seat in the Philippine Senate. The boxing great bounced back in polls after losing support over remarks about same-sex marriage.

- ROME - Andy Murray hopes his split with Amelie Mauresmo isn't seen as a failure for women coaching top players. Murray attributes the break to the time and workload that comes with the coaching job.

- ROME - Jelena Jankovic, who has gone three months without reaching a quarterfinal, loses to Eugenie Bouchard in the first round of the Italian Open. Serena Williams begins her clay-court season.
