Blackhawks send down D Hjalmarsson
Mar 28, 2008 - 12:58 AM CHICAGO (Ticker) -- The Chicago Blackhawks on Thursday assigned defenseman Niklas Hjalmarsson to Rockford of the American Hockey League.A fourth-round pick in 2005, Hjalmarsson appeared in 12 games with Chicago after being recalled on February 28, recording one assist and 13 penalty minutes. The 20-year-old Swede made his NHL debut on the night of his recall against Dallas.
Hjalmarsson has registered three goals and four assists in 38 games with Rockford this season, his first in North America.
