FC Dallas leaves it late to edge 'Quakes
Mar 8, 2015 - 5:06 AM Frisco, TX (SportsNetwork.com) - Blas Perez scored at the death to lift FC Dallas to a season-opening 1-0 victory over the San Jose Earthquakes on Saturday at Toyota Stadium.San Jose entered the new campaign hoping for a fresh start under new manager Dominic Kinnear, who returned to the Bay Area after leaving the Houston Dynamo, while FC Dallas was hoping to assert some level of authority on its home field.
Chances were few and far between all night long as San Jose managed just two attempts on target, while FC Dallas put five shots on frame.
Things got a bit more physical in the second half and it looked like things were going to end all even, but Perez came up big in the final moments of the game to hand all three points to FC Dallas in dramatic fashion.
