Bielsa to remain at Bilbao for another year
Jun 3, 2012 - 11:02 PM Bilbao, Spain (Sports Network) - Marcelo Bielsa extended his stay with Spanish club Athletic Bilbao on Sunday, agreeing to a one-year deal to remain with the Europa League and Copa del Rey runner-up for a second season.The 56-year-old Bielsa, who previously coached Argentina and Chile, took over Bilbao before last season and led the club to both the Europa League and Copa del Rey finals. Bilbao lost to Valencia and Barcelona, respectively, in those matches.
Bilbao finished 10th in La Liga, but qualified for next season's Europa League due its runner-up finish in the Copa del Rey.
