Bayern's Alaba to undergo surgery
Jul 23, 2012 - 6:14 PM Munich, Germany (Sports Network) - Bayern Munich defender David Alaba will undergo surgery on Tuesday to repair a foot fracture.Alaba sustained the injury in a friendly against Napoli on Friday, and the club's medics ruled on Monday that surgery would be the best course of action to repair the problem.
The 20-year-old appeared in 30 Bundesliga matches for Bayern last season, and he is expected to be out for 6-8 weeks.
But Bayern did get better news concerning Rafinha, who also was injured in Friday's friendly, as it was determined that he would not require surgery after damaging ankle ligaments.
