Espanyol signs defender Capdevila
Jul 27, 2012 - 9:42 PM Barcelona, Spain (Sports Network) - Espanyol signed former Spain defender Joan Capdevila on Friday from Benfica.Capdevila joined Benfica last year from Villarreal, but made just a handful of appearances for the Portugal club. It was his first club outside of Spain.
He also played for Espanyol early in his career and also had stops at Atletico Madrid, Deportivo, and Tarrega.
Capdevila, 34, made 60 appearances fro Spain from 2002-11. He helped Spain win Euro 2008 and the 2010 World Cup.
