New York signs defender Ogunbiyi
Jul 31, 2012 - 5:04 PM Harrison, NJ (Sports Network) - Red Bull New York signed defender Babajide Ogunbiyi on Tuesday.Ogunbiyi, 25, was drafted by New York in the 2009 MLS SuperDraft, but did not sign with the club. He instead joined Danish First Division club Viborg FF and scored six goals in 53 appearances with the club from 2010-12.
"Babajide is a defender with a lot of potential and we believe he can provide depth to our back line," said New York Red Bulls general manager and sporting director Erik Soler. "We are excited to bring him to New York and track his progress for the remainder of the season."
Per MLS and club regulations, terms of the deal were not disclosed.
