Montreal's Bernier named MLS Player of the Month
Sep 4, 2012 - 8:03 PM New York, NY (Sports Network) - Montreal Impact midfielder Patrice Bernier was named Major League Soccer Player of the Month for August on Tuesday.Bernier led the Impact to a 4-0-0 mark in August contributing three goals and three assists. He was previously honored as MLS Player of the Week three times in a row, in weeks 13-15.
The award is selected each month of the regular season by journalists from the North American Soccer Reporters.
Following are the 2012 MLS Player of the Month winners:
March: Thierry Henry (Red Bull New York).
April: Chris Wondolowski (San Jose Earthquakes).
May: Dwayne De Rosario (D.C. United).
June: Chris Wondolowski (San Jose Earthquakes).
July: Robbie Keane (Los Angeles Galaxy).
August: Patrice Bernier (Montreal Impact).
