'Quakes remain winless after draw at Rapids

Apr 20, 2014 - 12:07 AM Commerce City, CO (SportsNetwork.com) - The San Jose Earthquakes are still searching for their first win of the season after the team played to a 0-0 draw with the Colorado Rapids at a rain-soaked Dick's Sporting Goods Park on Saturday.

The best chance of the game came in the opening minute for the Earthquakes, while much of the match was filled with physical play as both teams struggled to carve out scoring chances in difficult conditions.

San Jose has now claimed two points from its last four games, while the Rapids entered the contest following back-to-back wins.

Alan Gordon had the best chance for either team in the game's opening minute when he got on the other end of a cross from Shea Salinas but redirected the ball off the crossbar.

San Jose brought Adam Jahn into the game in the 84th minute for Gordon, but just three minutes later he was sent off after a late challenge on a Colorado player.

The two teams combined to put just one shot on goal.
