Team Report
Coach: Josep Guardiola (first season) Last Result: 3-1 win at home to Mallorca, January 03 Record: 14-1-2 Streak: Won 5 Next Match: away to Osasuna, January 11 Europe: UEFA Champions League (First Round) Barcelona moved a point further clear at the top of the Primera Liga following last weekend's hard-fought 3-1 win at home to Mallorca. Pep Guardiola's side came from behind in that match and needed two late goals to seal the win. The Catalans now lead the Primera Liga by 11 points from Valencia after 17 rounds of the championship and look unlikely to slip up this weekend, when they travel to bottom club Osasuna on Sunday. Star winger Lionel Messi was not risked for the Mallorca game, but returned to action with a hat-trick against Atletico Madrid in the Copa del Rey on Tuesday night and should also start on Sunday. Guardiola is set to rotate again for Sunday's match in Pamplona, having left out Samuel Eto'o, Thierry Henry, Victor Valdes, Carles Puyol and Rafa Marquez on Tuesday. They all look set to return on Sunday, apart from Marquez, who is suspended. Gabi Milito is still not ready to return, but Guardiola will have an otherwise full-strength squad to choose from.
