It is bound to be an emotional occasion for Dortmund coach
Jurgen Klopp Saturday when he faces his former club Mainz for
the first time since leaving the club 18 months ago. "I always
gave everything for this club, but I am now doing that for
Dortmund," he said. "Since I cannot split myself in two, one
will remain a memory and the other is my daily reality." Klopp
led Mainz into the Bundesliga and spent nearly two decades with
the club, first as a player and then as coach, but he left in
May 2008 following the club's failure to make an immediate
return to the top flight. He has since seen his former club
overtake his in the standings: Mainz lies four points and three
places above Dortmund in sixth place.
