Evergreen Kade Simpson extends AFL career
Sep 8, 2016 - 8:51 AM Kade Simpson has signed a new contract at Carlton, ensuring the veteran defender will play on for at least one more AFL season.Named in the 2016 All Australian squad, Simpson has agreed to a one-year deal meaning he will head into a 15th pre-season campaign.
The 32-year-old was one of Carlton's best players in a 2016 season highlighted by his 250-game milestone for the club.
Simpson said the promise Carlton showed at different times this season had made it an attractive incentive to keep playing.
"The club is united and, while we know we have plenty of hard work ahead of us, we have an exciting young list coming through and it's an environment I want to be part of," Simpson said.
Simpson was recruited to Carlton at pick No.45 in the 2002 national draft and made his debut against Geelong midway through the 2003 season.
