Crows dismiss worry over Crouch AFL injury
Jan 25, 2017 - 3:04 AM The Adelaide Crows have dismissed any serious concern over injury-prone midfielder Brad Crouch's latest setback.Crouch is expected to rejoin full training in two weeks after suffering a hamstring strain, the latest ailment to trouble the gifted AFL onballer.
Crouch has played only 27 AFL games in the past three seasons since being the competition's Rising Star runner-up in 2013.
"He had a little setback a couple of weeks ago," teammate Daniel Talia told reporters on Wednesday.
"Nothing to worry about there. Brad has been tearing up the track - he's still getting to know his body, he's still a young bloke and probably with his history they're a bit more careful with him."
Talia expected the 23-year-old Crouch to play a part in the pre-season competition - the Crows play their first match on February 24 - but conceded the midfielder's preparation would likely be tailored towards the premiership season starting in late March.
"He is so explosive as well, the way he plays," Talia said.
"... You want him to get a bit of work in and find that balance, that is up to the strength and condition guys, they have got all that covered.
"Brad will be fine, no worries ... he'll be ready to go."
Adelaide veteran Scott Thomspon is on light duties because of shoulder soreness while promising youngster Wayne Milera has just returned to full training after overcoming knee soreness.
