Crow McGovern out with hamstring injury
Apr 11, 2017 - 3:46 AM Adelaide's emerging forward Mitch McGovern is expected to miss at least two months of the AFL season because of a hamstring injury.Scans have revealed McGovern suffered significant damage to his right hamstring during Saturday night's win against Port Adelaide.
Crows medicos will consult specialists before deciding if McGovern needs surgery.
"Obviously it's not great news ... he's going to be pretty disappointed," Adelaide defender Luke Brown told reporters on Tuesday.
"He brings a lot to our team. He has got real energy and he's real explosive as well.
"He's a valued asset for our team and he will be missed but I think we can cover him for the time being."
McGovern's absence comes amid continued uncertainty over fellow forward Josh Jenkins, who missed last weekend's match because of bruised ribs.
Jenkins will face a fitness test later this week to determine if he'll return for Adelaide's home match against Essendon on Saturday night.
