Walker signs 3-year extension with Crows

Jun 27, 2017 - 1:58 AM Adelaide captain Taylor Walker has signed a three-year contract extension, extending his stint at the AFL club until at least the end of the 2021 season.

Walker has played 142 games for the Crows and kicked 336 goals.

"Like I have said many times before, I love the footy club, its people and especially my teammates," said Walker, who will be 31 when his new deal runs out.

"I am convinced this playing group can achieve the type of success we all crave and the supporters deserve."

Crows head of football Brett Burton complimented Walker on the way he handled the contract negotiations.

"Tex is an influential leader and an important person around our club," Burton said in a statement.

"He is also one of the competition's elite forwards and continues to mature as a footballer, leader and person.

"His willingness to commit, in a way that assists the club in keeping this group together, highlights his faith in where we are heading and his team-first approach."

Walker made his AFL debut in 2009 after playing his junior football with North Broken Hill.

He replaced Nathan van Berlo as Crows captain in 2015.
