Adelaide's Sloane faces concussion test
Jul 19, 2017 - 5:32 PM Adelaide midfielder Rory Sloane will have another concussion test to determine if he plays against Geelong in Friday night's AFL blockbuster.Sloane passed concussions tests earlier this week and completed training with his teammates on Wednesday.
The Crows' vice-captain will have another concussion test on Thursday ahead of selection for the top-of-the-table match against the Cats.
"That will be the final hoop I have got to get through," Sloane told Triple M radio on Wednesday.
"We are leaving no stone unturned ... I have done a lot of tests.
"I trained, not flat-out, I avoided the competitive work but trained.
"And it all depends on how I pulled up after training, and I will chat to the doc tonight and let him know how I felt.
"And then tomorrow, we have got a little light run around at Adelaide Oval.
"And again, if I'm feeling good and can pass that baseline (concussion) test that I did at the start of the year ... there should be no reason why I can't play."
Sloane's likely inclusion will be a boost for the ladder-leading Crows, who are seeking to snap a five-game losing streak against the second-placed Cats.
Adelaide utility Andy Otten said the Crows would be hell-bent on playing a braver style of football than they did when defeated by Geelong in round 11.
"We thought we were a bit safe with our ball movement last time against Geelong and kind of did what they wanted," Otten told reporters on Wednesday.
"So we have been working the last few weeks on our intercept plays and really getting the ball moving ... and being able to run and carry and break some lines and play a bit more braver, with a bit more risk.
"The last few weeks we have been able to do that ... and the forwards have really reaped the benefits."
