I've got the wood on Warner: Kuldeep Yadav

Sep 20, 2017 - 5:32 PM All the pressure is on Australian star David Warner, according to his wrist-spinning nemesis Kuldeep Yadav.

The Indian youngster has claimed Warner's wicket in four of their six encounters.

It started with Yadav's debut Test in Dharamshala earlier in the year, carried through to two dismissals in the IPL and continued in the first one-day international on Sunday.

Warner didn't pick Yadav in Chennai. He completely misread a wrong'un the ball before he nicked a quicker slider through to wicketkeeper MS Dhoni.

Ahead of the series' second game in Kolkata on Thursday, the talented 22-year-old left-armer believes he's got the measure of one of world cricket's most aggressive batsmen.

"If you have the wood on some guy then you feel you can get him out as early as possible," Yadav said.

"Because the pressure is not on you, it's more so on him.

"It is the same with Warner against me, he will be playing under more pressure.

"He feels this guy can get me out anytime, so the pressure is not on me."

Yadav has found a recipe for success against Warner and isn't about to change it.

"I like to bowl at him and I feel like I can get him out," Yadav said.

"I know what plans work against him so I will look to do that again in the four matches coming up and I hope I can get him out again."

While Warner is in danger of becoming Yadav's bunny, Steve Smith presents a greater challenge.

Yadav says he's the toughest Australian to bowl to.

"He plays the ball late and he has an idea on how to get off strike by taking a single," Yadav said.

"It is tough to bowl against him because he likes to play through the leg side and he can play the big shot at any time, as well as rotate the strike."
