McGrath makes trademark Ashes prediction
Oct 20, 2017 - 12:11 AM You can set your clock to Glenn McGrath's prediction of an Australian clean sweep of the Ashes Test series, and this year is no exception. The retired Australian quick has said it would be rude of him not to forecast a 5-0 victory for Steve Smith's men when they confront the old enemy this summer.
"The boys are due to have a clean sweep," McGrath told Sky Sports Radio on Friday.
McGrath said Australia's fast bowlers are "looking good" and if Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood and Pat Cummins are in top form it would cause a ripple effect.
"If you've got those three guys bowling well, bowling quick, unsettling the other team, it actually gives the Australian team more confidence," he said.
"Gives the batsmen, you know, Smith, (David) Warner, (Peter) Handscomb and those guys a lot of confidence as well."
