SAN DIEGO (Ticker) -- Rookie Brandt Snedeker is 2-under par and has increased his lead to four strokes midway through Friday's second round of the Buick Invitational.

South Korean Charlie Wi, who began the day at 9-under-par 63, is even par through five holes and is four shots back of Snedeker, who is at 13-under.

Snedeker, who fired a course record 11-under 61 in Thursday's opening round, is playing the more difficult South Course but has two birdies through six holes Friday.

On the third hole, Snedeker sank a 40-foot birdie putt and on the par-5 sixth hole, he reached the green in two shots before two-putting from 15 feet.

Tiger Woods, who also is on the South Course, is even par through eight holes. He bogeyed on No. 2 but got it back with a birdie on the sixth.

Woods is making his first start of the year and trying to win his seventh consecutive PGA Tour event.
