KAN 1, CWS 2It was a pitchers dual early as Erick Fedde took the mound for Game 2 of today's doubleheader against Kansas City, striking out 5 Royals over 5.2 innings. Dominic Fletcher would put the Sox on the board in the bottom of the 4th with a line drive single to right field, scoring Andrew Vaughn. Gavin Sheets unleashed his third homer of the season in the bottom of the 6th inning, hitting the right field pole putting the Sox up by 2. The Royals attempted a comeback in the top of the 7th on a Hunter Renfroe RBI groundout to score Nick Loftin, but it would end there. Tanner Banks earned a hold in his relief of 1.1 innings and 1 strikeout. Deivi García got the 2 inning save. The Chicago White Sox defeated the Kansas City Royals, 2-1, at Guaranteed Rate Field in Chicago, Illinois. KAN 4, CWS 2Double the baseball, double the fun! After taking the lead early in the game on an Adam Frazier single, scoring Nelson Velázquez, the Royals fell behind 2-1. Salvador Perez came up clutch in the top of the 8th inning blasting a 2-run home run to take the lead 3-2. Later, adding some insurance, Hunter Renfroe demolished his own solo shot, giving the Royals the victory in Game 1 of 2 today.

KAN 2, CWS 0The Boys in Blue came to Chicago ready to bounce back and get back into the win column. Vinnie Pasquantino launched a solo shot to give the Royals a 1-0 lead in the top of the 4th inning, while Kyle Isbel hit an RBI single to make the score 2-0. Two runs is all it took tonight thanks to a strong pitching performance by Seth Lugo who threw 7.0 scoreless innings with the help of Chris Stratton and James McArthur who kept the White Sox from crossing home plate.
