Top 3 NBA Summer League Betting Odds & Pick for Tuesday (7/12)

    NBA -

If you’ve been enjoying the NBA Summer League, you’re in luck. Tonight’s slate of games features seven games, with half of the league playing.

That means we’ve got plenty of different betting options to choose from. Here are my top three favorite bets heading into today’s slate.

Boston Celtics vs. Golden State Warriors

How can we not bet on this match-up? The Celtics and Warriors will play for the first time since the NBA Championship!

I’m joking. But in all seriousness, this game should be fun. Both teams are 1-1 to start the Summer League in Vegas. The Celtics lost to the Heat on July 9 and then ended up defeating the Milwaukee Bucks on a Matt Ryan three-pointer.

The Celtics are getting a lot of contribution out of Ryan, as he scored 23 points in yesterday’s game. JD Davison played the most minutes for Boston but only scored five points while adding six assists and five turnovers.

The Warriors lost to the Knicks to start their Summer League journey but found a way to defeat the Spurs by a point behind Jonathan Kuminga’s 28 points in 26 minutes of action.

But the reality is that the Celtics are much deeper than the Warriors. Other than Kuminga, Mac McClung, and James Wiseman, the Warriors lack scoring on their team. I’m going to take the points with the Celtics. They’re the deeper team and can get production from their bench as well.

Bet: Celtics +3.5 (-110 at DraftKings

    Atlanta Hawks vs. Miami Heat

The Hawks already had a game against the Jazz where they scored just 66 points. In their most recent game, the Hawks lost to the Pelicans, 101-73.

The Atlanta Hawks look absolutely horrible in the Summer League and really haven’t played well. On paper, this team is stacked with college talent, but it’s not working out in the Summer League. Tyrese Martin led the team in minutes yesterday with nearly 24 minutes, but he scored just nine points. Justin Tillman and Chaundee Brown Jr. both added a team-high 14 points in their near 30-point loss.

Meanwhile, the Heat defeated the Celtics and held them to just 78 points in a 88-78 victory. The Hawks aren’t going to score many points in tonight’s game either. I’ll ride with the Heat at -4.5. They’re led by Nikola Jovic, Javonte Smart, and Mychal Mulder. Even Marcus Garrett has played well for this team.

Bet: Heat -4.5 (-110 at DraftKings)

    Detroit Pistons vs. Indiana Pacers

The Detroit Pistons defeated the Blazers on Friday and then took down the Wizards on Saturday, earning two straight victories. The Pistons won’t have Jaden Ivey around, but they will have Jalen Duren, Isaiah Stewart, Isaiah Livers, and plenty of other talented players on their team.

Meanwhile, the Pacers knocked off the Hornets on Friday and enjoyed a 103-96 win over the Kings on Sunday. Indiana also has a bunch of scorers between Terry Taylor, Bennedict Mathurin, and Andrew Nembhard, to name a few.

This game should get over the total. I wouldn’t be surprised if both teams hovered around 100 again.

Bet: Over 176.5 (-110 at DraftKings)
