—Riley Ferguson, Memphis, threw for 398 yards and six TDs to lead the Tigers to a 48-45 win over No. 25 UCLA.
—Nic Shimonek, Texas Tech, threw for 543 yards and six TDs, helping the Red Raiders beat Arizona State 52-45.

HUSKER TAKEDOWN
Northern Illinois is 4 for 5 against the Big Ten under coach Rod Carey, so if you were looking for shocked expressions after the Huskies' 21-17 upset of Nebraska, you had to go to the Cornhuskers' locker room.
There was a bit of a been-there, done-that air about what the Huskies pulled off at Memorial Stadium on Saturday. Yes, the Huskies returned for a curtain call after the game and lined up to take a picture in front of their remaining fans in the corner of the southwest end zone.
But beating Nebraska isn't what it used to be. The intimidation factor for visitors to one of college football's great cathedrals has faded as the glory years of the 1990s become more distant.
The Huskies became the first team not in a Power Five conference or major independent to win in Lincoln since Southern Mississippi knocked off the Cornhuskers in 2004. They join eight other unranked-at-the-time Power Five or major independent teams to win at Nebraska since 2012.

HAIL TYRIE
Tyrie Cleveland was one of the last players to leave Florida Field. He slapped hands, posed for pictures, and just before disappearing into the locker room tunnel, he turned and waved one final time.
He easily could have taken a bow.
Cleveland hauled in a 63-yard touchdown pass from Feleipe Franks as time expired, and No. 24 Florida stunned 23rd-ranked Tennessee 26-20 in a wild, wacky and sometimes unwatchable rivalry game Saturday.
Franks scrambled away from the rush on a first-and-10 play with 9 seconds remaining and found Cleveland behind safety Micah Abernathy for a Hail Mary that no one — especially the Volunteers — saw coming.

MEMPHIS UPSETS UCLA
UCLA and Josh Rosen came in with the reputation and the ranking. The Memphis Tigers think it is time they got some respect and notoriety.
Rosen was unable to put together a fourth-quarter comeback like he did in the opener against Texas A&M, and Memphis beat the No. 25 Bruins 48-45. The nationally televised game showcased a Tigers program that is 2-0 and has beaten a ranked team in each of the last three seasons.
Riley Ferguson threw for 398 yards and six touchdowns, and Jacobi Francis broke up a late fourth-down pass to lead Memphis. Francis' breakup with 56 seconds left sent the Tigers faithful into a celebration.
Rosen, considered one of the top quarterbacks in the country, was 34 of 56 for 463 yards and four touchdowns for the Bruins (2-1). But there also were two key interceptions.
