WHAT'S AT STAKE
Old Dominion plays its second consecutive game against an Atlantic Coast Conference team after losing 53-23 to North Carolina last week. The Monarchs will start 17-year-old quarterback Steven Williams Jr. for the first time. The Hokies are coming of a 64-point game against East Carolina and looking to finish their nonconference slate unbeaten.
Williams against the Hokies' defense. Williams played with poise against the Tar Heels and showed good escapability, but the Monarchs will be without top receiver Jonathan Duhart and TB Ray Lawry, both out for the season with injuries.
PLAYERS TO WATCH
Old Dominion: WR Isaiah Harper. The speedy 5-foot-9 junior had a big day against North Carolina, scoring on a 100-yard kickoff return and adding a 50-yard reception.
Virginia Tech: RB Travon McMillian. The junior has scored a touchdown in six consecutive games and has scored 20 in his career. His touchdown last week came on a career long 70-yard reception.

Williams finished 9 of 20 for 139 yards with two touchdown passes and no interceptions against the Tar Heels. ... Old Dominion is 0-8 against teams from Power Five conferences. ... Virginia Tech WR Cam Phillips caught a school record 14 passes for 189 yards and three touchdowns against the Pirates. He's averaging 139 receiving yards per game. ... QB Josh Jackson rushed for 101 yards in the Hokies' opener against West Virginia but has rushed for just 14 yards since. He's the first Virginia Tech quarterback to avoid throwing an interception in the first three games since Grant Noel in 2001.
