Despite being the #2 team in the country, the Bearcats rank #2 in their conference as they trail the unranked Houston Cougars by nature of having played one less game. Not that they care, as they have much bigger tasks at hand. Their opponent, the Tulsa Golden Hurricane, comes into this one 3-5 on the season with a bag of mixed results.

Coming into this one confident, having taken the Bearcats into deep water last season, Tulsa has fallen off from those levels significantly almost across the board. Potentially their lowest point came last season, where they lost to Navy at home despite the Midshipmen not throwing the ball once the entire game.
Ranking #8 in the conference in total defense, they face a potential disaster in this one as they hit the road for Cincinnatti and an offense that has been tormenting their foes since September.
That Cinci, as mentioned earlier, offense hasn’t just been good, but great, as they come into this one averaging 40 points per game and ranking #9 in the country in that category. Led by Heisman hopeful quarterback Desmond Ridder, the Bearcats gunslinger has thrown for 1800 yards and 21 touchdowns on the season.
He’s complemented, of course, by a great running back as well, as Jerome Ford has run for 846 yards and is #3 in the country in touchdowns at 14.

In addition to an elite offense, the Bearcats quietly are turning into a defensive powerhouse in the AAC, as well as they boast the #2 defense in the nation, allowing just 14.3 points per game. In this one, like in prior weeks, I expect the Bearcats to beat up on their weaker foe as they take another step forward in proving to the CFP committee they belong amongst the nation’s best.
