    Overview

Texas Tech is 1-1 under interim head coach Sonny Cumbie. They found a last-second win against a good Iowa State team and had a bad loss against Oklahoma State. Both Iowa State and Oklahoma State have good defenses, but Texas Tech had success with the deep ball against Iowa State. Against Iowa State, they scored 34 points, but when they played Oklahoma State, they scored zero points. The big question is which offense is going to show up against Baylor. Betting this game will be interesting because of the lack of games played under interim coach Sonny Cumbie. Due to the lack of games, lower the number of units placed on bets of this game.

Baylor football has been good this year. They are 9-2 and are averaging 450 yards on offense and 34 points per game. Baylor does a great job running the ball. Rushing for an average of 230 yards per game and uses mobile quarterback Gerry Bohanon to run for the first down marker when the play breaks down. Defensively, they have been phenomenal, allowing 19 points per game and 225 passing yards. Texas Tech is dependent on throwing the deep ball since Sonny Cumbie has taken over. With Baylor’s secondary and great defense, Texas Tech will struggle to find the endzone.

    Bottom Line

Baylor is going to score points in this game. They can rack up the yards consistently, but Texas Tech will struggle to find the endzone. Teams have gotten film on Sonny Cumbie’s offense, and now they know how to stop it. Throw in that the Baylor defense has been phenomenal,  and Saturday will be a rough day for the Red Raiders. Baylor hasn’t scored over 31 points against a Big 12 team since the first week in October. That leaves 22 points for Texas Tech to score points for this game to go over 52 points. Texas Tech is too inconsistent for them to score 22 points. The betting value is on the under in this game.

Pick: Total Points Under 52  (-110)
