The PAC-12 title will be decided Friday night in Las Vegas as the #10 Oregon Ducks will take on the #17 Utah Utes with a chance to play in the Rose Bowl on the line. Having just played a few weeks ago, these two conference foes are more than familiar with one another, and at least one will leave with a terrible taste in their mouth heading into the offseason.

Having gotten throttled on the road in Utah 7-38 just 12 days ago, the Ducks will need to shake it off quickly if they want to have a chance to play for a Rose Bowl. The last time we saw them on the field was one of their best offensive performances of the season, putting up 506 yards and 38 points on their in-state rival Oregon State.
For the Utes, potentially head coach Kyle Wittingham’s most impressive season to date, they overcame tragedy within the program to finish the regular season with a record of 10-2 and South Division championship. Coming into this one with a top 30 defense in points scored (21.5), passing yards (199.3), rushing yards (126), and total yards (325.3), the Utes have leaned on their defense all season and will likely again in this one.

The Ducks faithful are likely playing the ultimate game of spin zone this week as they not only lost to the Utes in deceive fashion a few weeks ago but did so without turning the ball over once. As most games do, that one came down to the lines on both sides of the ball, as the Utes ran for 208 yards and four touchdowns while the Ducks struggled to just 63 yards but not from a lack of trying. They had 23 attempts.
In this one, with both lines as healthy as they were then, I expect a similar result.
