Blue Jays take series in Baltimore

Aug 7, 2011 - 8:12 PM Baltimore, MD (Sports Network) - Ricky Romero turned in a strong outing and received ample support as the Toronto Blue Jays downed the Baltimore Orioles, 7-2, in the rubber match of a three-game series.

Romero (10-9) allowed just two runs on four hits over eight innings. He struck out five and did not issue a walk.

Jose Bautista and J.P. Arencibia both had two-run doubles and John McDonald went 3-for-4 with a pair of RBI. Brett Lawrie added his first major league home run.

The Orioles' runs came in the form of solo homers by Mark Reynolds.

In 5 2/3 innings, Alfredo Simon (3-5) allowed six runs -- four earned -- on a career-high 10 hits to suffer the loss.
