Hamels earns 10th win, Phils rout Marlins

Ryan Howard went 4-for-5 with a home run and four RBI, Raul Ibanez added three hits, a homer and drove in four and Jimmy Rollins scored three times during a four-hit night for Philadelphia, which has won seven of nine overall.
Hamels (10-4), who took a liner off his non-pitching hand in his previous start, lasted eight innings and gave up eight hits and one walk while allowing just two runs on John Buck's home run.
"Getting that many runs, it makes it a little bit easier when you make that mistake," Hamels said. "It's not as stressful to get outs when you know you have a big lead."
Chris Volstad (4-8) was knocked around for seven runs on nine hits in his four-inning start for Florida, which had won four of five before losing the first two games of this series.
The Phillies scored a total of three runs in Hamels' previous three outings and were coming off an offense-starved 1-0 victory in the series opener.
But they scored five runs in the third inning on Tuesday and never took their foot off the gas.
With runners on the corners and two outs in the third, the Marlins opted to walk Howard to load the bases. Ibanez made them pay with a two-run single, the first of four straight base hits for the visitors. Domonic Brown also brought in a run and Wilson Valdez knocked in a pair with a base hit up the middle.
Florida decided the next inning to pitch to Howard with first base open, a runner on second and two outs, and the slugger responded with a blast over the wall in right-center for his 18th home run of the season.
Hamels, one of three Phillies starters selected for next week's All-Star Game, did not seem affected by the injury to his right hand from his previous start, though he did give up a triple to Mike Stanton and a home run to Buck in the fourth.
Bryan Petersen followed with a single, but Hamels retired 10 straight from there, and Howard added an RBI single in the sixth.
For good measure, the Phillies tacked on six runs against Brian Sanches in the ninth. Michael Martinez laced a three-run triple and scored on Howard's double, and Ibanez capped the onslaught with a two-run shot to right.
"It was a tough one...We got blown out tonight, but that's a good club. Let's face it, if you're not going to make good pitches, you're not going to win," Marlins interim manager Jack McKeon said.
