The New York third baseman homered in his first at-bat and singled twice as the Mets blanked the Philadelphia Phillies, 5-0, in the middle test of a three-game set at Citizens Bank Park.
Lucas Duda clubbed a two-run homer for the Mets, who have taken the first two games of this series to improve to 6-2 on the young season.
Jon Niese (2-0) limited the Phillies to five singles over 6 2/3 innings. Bobby Parnell and Jon Rauch shut down Philadelphia the rest of the away.
Vance Worley (0-1) gave up four runs on eight hits and walked four in six frames for Philadelphia, which fell to 3-5.
"You just got to keep working and be confident things will get turned around," said Phillies outfielder John Mayberry Jr.
Wright sent the first pitch he saw to center field to put New York on the board in the first inning.
"When a guy like David Wright goes out and plays with a broken finger, and everybody knows he's got it, and plays the way he plays, all of a sudden the other guys don't hurt as bad," said New York manager Terry Collins.
The Mets loaded the bases with no outs in the fourth and went up 2-0 when Jason Bay grounded into a double play. Duda followed with his third home run of the season, a blast to the seats in right-center.
Ruben Tejada added an RBI single in the ninth off Philadelphia's Michael Stutes.
Game Notes
