Franklin pushes M's past Athletics
Jun 23, 2013 - 6:06 AM Seattle, WA (Sports Network) - Nick Franklin's two-run single in the eighth inning lifted the Seattle Mariners to a 7-5 win over the Oakland Athletics on Saturday. With two on and no outs, Franklin ripped a base hit to left-center field off Ryan Cook (1-1) to score Brendan Ryan and Endy Chavez.
Jed Lowrie hit a leadoff single in the ninth, but Yoervis Medina (2-2) got Yoenis Cespedes to ground into a double play and Brandon Moss to fly out to end the game.
Franklin finished the game 3-for-5 with three RBI and Raul Ibanez cracked a three-run homer for the Mariners, who snapped a three-game skid.
